Coaching Organization-14 Days of Install! How to prepare your installation schedule!
One of the most important aspects of coaching is installing your offense or defense. At what speed do you do it at and what is the progression. How many parts do you install a day and at what speed do you do it. Are you going too fast or not not fast enough is often being asked? I try to get as much in early and then go back and reteach it. It is also important to tie in your teaching progressions in individual, group and team to what is happening on your install schedule. Be clear with your position coaches on what is going in and what they should be working on.
I break my install into the following categories:
General-Terminology that is used, signals, calling the defense, offensive personnel and route recognition, etc…
Fronts and personnel-base, nickel, odd, goal line, heavy and dime
Comps-Comps are the alignments from the different packages.
Movements-All are slants, sparks, pinches
Blitzes-zone and man pressures
Coverages-zone, man, 3rd down, red zone, goal line
Stunts & Games
My installation process for fall camp is below!
The progression for implementing your 4-2-5 defense with day by day progressions for our 4-2-5 defense. We also run an odd dime package with 6 defensive backs as well as a heavy 4-3 package when needed.
