Iowa State-DB Pressures and Games From the 3-3 Broken Stack 3 safety System
This article looks at the Iowa State defense and some of the DB pressures they incorporate into their defense. These pressure involve using a CB or Deep safety in the blitz. They run these pressures from a 3-2 system as they are rarely stacked in their system with their front.
They primarily play, 3-2 with a zero nose and two 5 techniques. A bear front with 2 3 technique. And at times, one or two of the defensive lineman in a 4i. They don’t play 2 4i’s as much as people think.
Lets take a look at a few blitzes and pressures in this article.
Cowboy and Sam
They are in their base front with 2 5’s and a zero nose. They bring the Sam to the field and corner off the edge. It looks like man free or man coverage.
