Jets Chiefs Recap: Pivotal Plays from the Chiefs Offense vs the Jets Defense
The Jets and Chiefs was a very good football game that came down to the wire.
Here are some of the pivotal plays that happened during the game. The Chiefs jumped out to score 17 early, yet the Jets responded and played excellent football and hold the Chiefs to 6 points in the last 3 quarters.
Let’s look at some of the pivotal plays.
1st quarter
Andy runs a great play call that gets the Jets defense out of position.
They come out tackle in the tight end spot and it confuses the Jets. They also motion, the Jets spin it and it leaves them without an edge defender. This is the Chiefs 1st touchdown.
The Chiefs come out in bone and catch the Jets in man coverage. The only problem is that Mosely has the RB Pacheco and loses him and they complete it to him for a 3o yard gain. Big play on the blown coverage.
Later on the 2nd TD Drive, The Jets get bunch and Andy runs a nice route concept. The #3 wr sneaks out as the Jets don’t sort it out properly and blow the coverage. The sam has the point man but no one covers the #3 te vertically. Touchdown.
The next one is a 3rd and 7
The Jets are in dime with #37 Breece Hall on the wr. The Chiefs motion the WR into the RB slot and get a rub route from Kelce. Mahomes throws a great ball as Hall loses his footing late, allowing the completion.
The pivotal play
The Jets have the Chiefs in a 3rd and 22 and they allow the Chiefs off the hook. No pressure at all as Mahomes has all day. They don’t spy him which when you play which on 3rd and 22, you don’t expect him to run for 25 yards. They run a game but I wonder if Johnson is supposed to spy in that situation Just a bad break as the coverage is outstanding down the field. Argue the holding call all you want but you got to get off the field on 3rd and 22.
Right before Mahomes scrambles, Carter jumps Kelce in the scramble drill, which allows Mahomes to go untouched. Carter does what he is coached to do but it hurts in the 3rd and 25 situation.
These are 4 of the pivotal plays in the game. The Jets defense played a very good game and played well enough to win. Some tough calls and breaks but an overall good performance.
