The Tampa Bay Bucaneers are having a great year under Liam Coen. They are currently 8-6 but doing some great things offensively.

2024 Statistics:

  • 4th in scoring; 28.8 PPG

  • 4th in rushing yards per game; 144 YPG

  • 4th in passing yards per game; 244 YPG

  • 3rd in yards per game; 388 YPG

  • 2nd in rushing yards per attempt; 5.2 YPA

  • 3rd in 3rd down %; 48 % efficiency

I can go on on and on as they are top 5 in several categories:

Run Game:
Their gap schemes include some of the following:

  • Outside and Traditional Trap

  • Wham vs odd and even fronts

  • Counter

  • Duo

  • H Wrap with Duo Principles

  • Flip pin and Pull

This article will focus on their trap game. Outside trap, influence trap, traditional trap and their wham play!

Trap Schemes

They remind me of a wing T team running some belly schemes with their outside trap game. They do an excellent job taking advantage of angles in all their run schemes.

Outside Trap

Vs the 49ers, they run outside trap.

Vs the Giants Odd front, they pull the tackle instead.

Influence Trap

Look at the DT trying to get in the hip pocket of the offensive lineman! This sets up the trap block by the other guard! Everyone gets to their block on the 2nd level!

2 Clips of it!
