Liam Coen's Kentucky Offense: 12 personnel play action passing game

Kentucky brings back Liam Coen to run their offense in 2023. He was their offensive coordinator in 2021 when they were one of the best teams in the country. He had them playing at a high level.

One of his schemes he excels at is his 12 personnel, max protection play action passing game. When he goes 12 and wants to throw the ball, he will often do it with 7 and 8 man protection. They rarely check it down to the running back and have been very effective with this scheme. They will often run their play action in 12 personnel, especially when they know they are getting cover 3.

x ray is 2 deep crossers at 12-14 yards trying to expose cover 3, but they give the wr the option to break the route back outside (1A) if they like the leverage of the cb and it dictate it to them .
