Oregon Ducks Sprint Out Package
The Oregon Ducks use various schemes in there offense. One you see them use quite often is sprint out. The interesting concept that they use entails them sprinting away from the side of the RB. Most teams like to sprint to the RB, and the Ducks have this in there scheme, but more often they are sprinting away from the QB.
In this article you will sprint as follows:
The 1st one is Sprint with the sail concept. They motion to it and try to hit the receiver on the sail concept. They have it open downfield but the QB takes the completion.
Sprint Comeback
Again notice the protection. The TE is in and the RB is releasing late if no pressure inside. From their they are looking to throw the comeback vs press coverage.
Comeback #2
They come out in stack rt and motion to the other side. Again they seal the edge with the TE and that allows the QB to get on the edge. Nice route and completion.

Sprint Sail from Unbalanced
Below are 2 clubs of the sail route from unbalanced. Again sprinting away from the RB.
In the first situation they attach the TE and run it with trips outside of it.
The defense is in an interesting unbalanced defense. The Sam carries 2 vertically, while the free safety is reading 3. Everyone else looks like they are in cover 2 to the strong side
The sail deep out route is open as the free and sam both play #2 vertically. The deep 1/2 safety plays #1 on the post.

#2 Sail concept from unbalanced
In this situation the TE on the line is ineligible in 4x1 bunch inside. But as in other scenarios, he is primarily a blocker in their sprint game. He seals the edge and The RB check releases off his block. If no pressure he keeps going to the flat.
This allows the sail route to open as the safety reading 3 to 2 helps on the post and because the sam is carrying 2 there is no one on the deep out
Trips Bunch Sprint in short yardage
Let’s look at a few scenarios in which the Ducks sprint a way from the RB.
3rd and 2
The last scenario is a nice rub route design and one of the few times they sprint to the RB side. They motion to bunch and set the nice pick route for the TE to the flat.
I hope you enjoyed this article. It’s not too late to add this to your playbook!
