Packers Run Game vs Eagles
This post looks at some run game schemes in the Packers vs Eagles game. The Packers put up 163 yards on 21 carries in a well fought football game.
Let’s look at a few plays that they ran.
Attacking the Penny front
They attacked the penny front with 2 long runs. The first was on Jet sweep. They reach the DE and get the WR reed on the edge.
They run wide zone with orbit motion. The orbit motion removes the Mike in their penny look. Due to the nub side defensive end they get the CB to be the C gap defender in run support as the tackle is able to climb up to him.
You see #17 Dean the Mike outside the box.
They get the matchup as the guard reaches the b gap defender and the Tackle gets up to the CB.
Here are some other clips of the Packers run game. You will see duo, counter , z wrap on these clips! Most of these clips are against the Eagles 4-2 nickel front.
These are some of the clips you saw from the Packers in their week 1 tough loss to the Eagles. They had some success offensively, especially in the run game.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
