Quick Playbook Installs:The Buffalo Bills Wide Zone Running Game

The Buffalo Bills have been running wide zone quite successfully. There offensive line has been doing an outstanding job with the play, as they have been going more under center and running the football in 2024. They love running it over their left side and have had some success with it this year.

Here’s how the scheme looks.

In the diagram below, they run it at the Jets shade front with the LG and Center combo blocking to the playside LB.

The LT stays firm on the LG with shorter steps and then works to the playside LB.

You see the double teams starting to develp and the cutback lane opening. The backside TE works up to the safety it may be a touchdown.

All shoulders of the O Line in phase on the same angle which is how it should be on the play. Great cutback lane.
