The Washington Commanders have a very effective run game. This is in part because of the skillset of Jayden Daniels and his ability to stretch the field and keep defenses honest in the run game. You have to account for him, especially when in the gun, and this opens up run lanes for their RB in the run game.
Wrap Schemes
They run their wrap scheme in a variety of ways. They can pull any OL but have run it considerably at the 2i in an even front. These 2 examples looks at the scheme.
The first is pulling the offensive tackle. They run same side Wrap and pull the OT to the playside LB vs essentally a 4-3 defense with the safety down to the TE side. They get 8 yards on the scheme.
The 2nd wrap is utilizing motion to move the LB and run wrap the other way. Some teams bump with motion, others rotate in the secondary. The Lions bump their LB vs Jet motion and the Commanders get a nice gain on the play away from jet motion.
Wrap vs a scrape exchange
They run wrap again, this time moving the RB late because they want to run it at the 2i. They pull the center and get a nice huge gain on it.
