Week 1 Browns vs Bengals: Favorite Pressures and blitzes from Jim Schwartz and Bengals Lou Anarumo
In week 1, the Browns and Bengals went at it in a very defensive minded football game. The Browns ended up winning it 24-3 but the pass defense was pretty solid on both ends. Let’s look at some of the pressures and designs by both coaches in this matchup.
Let’s start with Coach Schwartz and how he attacked the Bengals.
The first pressure I would like to discuss is a 5 man pressure with the 2 inside LB and Free coming right up the middle. Pressure forces the ball out early and an incomplete pass.
The next pressure is out of a bear front with the mike coming but they drop the DE into coverage and play cover 3 fire zone. A nice 4 man simulated pressure.
